Details

Bird watching can fill your days with a sense of wonder and the excitement of discovery. Central Montana has a diverse landscape that is home to many bird species, so opportunities abound to add new birds to life lists. Consider Brewery Flats Trail: Any summer evening, stroll the trail that parallels Big Spring Creek.

Gurgling water blends with the chattering of a Belted Kingfisher. A secretive Grey Catbird may be spotted in the chokecherry bushes, or an American Goldfinch may be seen clinging to a stalk of grass. An American Dipper might be wading along the edge of the creek, or you may spot a Common Merganser diving into the water for fish.

Montana's Only Bird Sighting Kiosk
The Yogo Inn in Lewistown was selected to house the only Birding Kiosk in the State of Montana.  The kiosk came from Cornell University and is set up right inside the main lobby doors.  As you travel throughout the community, or even the State, please stop in to make sure you keep track of all the birds you see and their location and register them at the Kiosk.  More information at YogoInn.com
