Session 2: Spring/Summer Calving Panel
Local ranchers who have moved to May/June calving will share their experiences, discuss their process, and answer questions. If you’ve ever considered moving your calving date, you won’t want to miss this! Panelists include LJ Olson and Kurt Myllymaki.
The Farm Forum on Friday, January 24th, focuses on cattle production. From 10am to noon, local veterinarians Scott Damby, Greg Carlson, and Dick Raths will present a workshop on calving tips and best practices as we prepare for the calving season in Central Montana. Again, a free lunch will be provided at noon.
The event wraps up with a Spring Calving Panel from 1pm-3pm. Some of our local ranchers have made the switch to May/June calving, and will share their experiences, discuss their process, and answer questions. Panelists include LJ Olson, Kurt Myllymaki, and Eric Wickens. This is a great opportunity to hear about the benefits and challenges of switching to spring calving from the producers themselves. If you’ve ever considered moving to a later calving date, plan to attend this session, and bring your questions!
