Friends of the Lewistown Trails, a non-profit group dedicated to maintaining and improving the 24-mile trail system, hosts the annual Trails, Ales & Bales beer tasting benefit as the Chokecherry Festival winds down each year. Held in conjunction with the Festival, the tasting falls on the first Saturday after Labor Day weekend.
As the name implies, the beer tasting benefit includes sampling critically acclaimed, award-winning brews, all donated by area breweries. “The spirit of the microbrew industry is one of community involvement,” stated James Chalmers, President. “For so many great breweries to contribute their product to make the Lewistown Trail System even better is phenomenal.
Saturday’s Trails, Ales and Bales beer tasting benefit includes live music and several food vendor booths. Tickets for the event are available at the gate and include a collectible souvenir mug. Participants must be over the age of 21 in order to sample beer. It is advised participants bring their own seating.
