The Farm to Table movement is alive and well in Central Montana.  The 3rd annual Montana’s Longest Table will be held in Lewistown in August, and features a Montana-style dinner created from foods that can be grown in Montana.

A robust meal, the variety of offerings are provided by area restaurants.  Made from beef, pork, chicken, wheat, hops, legumes, berries, dairy and so much more, all the dishes contain commodities produced by local farmers and ranchers.

A large part of the Farm to Table movement is sharing the process of moving our locally grown foods through the production chain to the point of becoming the products we buy at our local stores.

With that in mind, many farms, ranches and organizations provide educational opportunities during the event, teaching more about the food offerings, the farms and ranches that generate them, and the process of getting them to market.

Along with the meal and education, entertainment includes a Kid’s Corral and Petting Zoo for the younger participants.  Live music for the young-at-heart rounds out the relaxing, kick-back evening.

With a table that seats 200, there’s plenty of room for all.  Tickets sell out early, so be sure to get yours soon at MontanasLongestTable.com
