Big Casino Reservoir Fishing Access
Big Casino Creek Reservoir is a 16-acre fishing access site located just south of Lewistown. Popular with both anglers and outdoor enthusiasts, the reservoir offers excellent fishing, wildlife viewing and boating opportunities in a peaceful setting.
Anglers can enjoy fishing from shore, the accessible fishing pier or a small watercraft. The reservoir supports a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, rainbow trout, black crappie, yellow perch and tiger muskie, providing opportunities for anglers of all skill levels throughout much of the year. Spring and fall are especially productive, while the calm waters make it an excellent place for families and beginning anglers.
Wildlife viewing is another highlight of the reservoir. Deer are commonly seen grazing along the shoreline, while ducks, geese and other waterfowl frequent the water throughout the year. Birdwatchers may also spot raptors soaring overhead, songbirds in the surrounding vegetation and a variety of seasonal migratory birds, making the reservoir an enjoyable destination even for those who never cast a line.
Amenities include an ADA-accessible fishing pier, boat launch and seasonal vault toilets. Big Casino Creek Reservoir is open year-round for day use only and does not allow overnight camping. The site is cooperatively managed by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the City of Lewistown.
