Big Spring Skatepark opened in August, 2017 after a powerful fundraising campaign headed by Make It Happen Montana, a local non-profit whose mission is to empower, inspire and invest in opportunity, people and communities to support and make social change.

The state-of-the-art skatepark, constructed by nationally reknowned Evergreen Skateparks, is located in Symmes Park, directly behind the Chamber offices and Central Montana Museum.  It is an unsupervised skatepark, and all users and spectators assume liability in it's use.

Make It Happen Montana, with the help and support of Pearl Jam's bassist Jeff Ament and his Foundation, worked diligently to make the skatepark happen, raising funds in just under a year.  The skatepark showcases yet again the support the Lewistown community has for it's youth.

Skateparks have been shown to have amazing health and social benefits, encouraging kids (and adults) who may not have other outlets to be outside and physically active.  They provide opportunities for confidence and skill building, as well as creating another space for kids and their families to gather and have fun.
