LAC was established 45+ years ago to promote art, art education and art appreciation for the enrichment and enjoyment of the citizens of Central Montana and continues to grow and develop each year.
The Art Center also offers quality, low-cost education programs to both children and adults. Hands on Art, the After School Art Program, gives children the opportunity to explore their creativity, learn new skills while having a lot of fun. Summer Fun Camp for kids has a schedule of sessions from June through August.
For adults, a variety of workshops and social events are offered throughout the year. -- In addition to the visual arts, LAC is involved in the community and is home to the Lewistown Wood Carver's Group, the Community Labyrinth Garden, the Central Montana Community Concert Association and the Central Montana Writer's Group.
The Art Center is a hub of activity Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m and Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Admission is always free for monthly gallery shows featuring a wide range of Montana and intermountain artists.
The Gift Shop, located inside the Art Center features art and hand-crafted giftware from local and regional Montana artists consigning ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, paintings, prints, photography, books, CDs and much more.
After School Hands On Art and Summer Art Camps, as well as Workshops for Adults and Social Night Classes provide exciting art and art education experiences for youth and adults.
